Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 March 2026

Keyzee ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Keyzee is operated as a UK-based online platform connecting home buyers and sellers directly. For data protection purposes, Keyzee is the data controller for the personal data you provide when using our services. You can contact us at Stuart.pecksen@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: name, email address, and profile photo (provided via your social login or Auth0 account).
  • Listing data: property address, description, price, photos, and availability you submit when creating a listing.
  • Enquiry data: messages you send or receive through the platform between buyers and sellers.
  • Usage data: pages visited, searches performed, properties saved, and features used — collected via Mixpanel analytics.
  • Device and connection data: IP address, browser type, and operating system, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Netlify).

3. How we use your data

We process your data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • Providing the service (contractual necessity): creating and managing your account, publishing your listing, facilitating buyer–seller introductions.
  • Improving the platform (legitimate interests): analysing usage patterns to fix bugs and prioritise features.
  • Communications (legitimate interests): sending service-related notifications such as new enquiries or listing status updates.
  • Legal compliance (legal obligation): retaining transaction records as required by applicable law.

We do not use your data for automated profiling or decisions that produce significant effects on you.

4. Partner services and referral fees

Keyzee may present you with optional third-party services such as conveyancers, mortgage brokers, removal companies, and EPC assessors. If you choose to use a partner service, relevant contact details you provide may be shared with that partner solely to fulfil your request. We may earn a referral fee from the partner at no cost to you. You are never obliged to use any partner service.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We also use analytics cookies (Mixpanel) to understand how the platform is used. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

6. Data sharing

We share data only with:

  • Auth0 — identity and authentication provider.
  • Netlify — hosting and serverless functions.
  • Mixpanel — product analytics (pseudonymous usage data).
  • Partner services — only when you opt in, as described above.
  • Law enforcement — where required by UK law or court order.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate interests (for example, to resolve disputes).

Listing data is removed promptly when a listing is deleted. Message history is retained for 12 months after the last message to allow dispute resolution, then deleted.

8. International transfers

Our service providers (Auth0, Netlify, Mixpanel) may process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we rely on UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to ensure your data is protected to an equivalent standard.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at Stuart.pecksen@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Auth0, and access controls on our backend. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials private.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. For significant changes we will notify you by email or in-app notice.
